GOLD CANYON "STRIKE IT GOLD" INSTANT WIN GAME ("PROMOTION")
2010 OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
- ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are of the legal age of majority at time of entry. Employees of Gold Canyon International, LLC ("Sponsor"), its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, judging and promotion agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Promotion (collectively, "Promotion Parties"), and the immediate family members of each such employee (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in the same household as each such employee (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Promotion) are not eligible to participate.
- HOW TO PLAY: Starting January 1, 2010 through March 31, 2010, purchase a specially marked Gold Canyon 26 oz. Heritage Collection candle, for a chance to win a cash prize. If your candle contains a golden coin (found by burning the candle to the bottom) with a winning message, then you've won the prize indicated, subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules. Each specially marked candle will also contain a game piece with one of the offers listed in section 5 below ("Game Piece"). You may request a chance to receive a golden coin and Game Piece by sending a self-addressed, postage stamped envelope (for receipt by April 30, 2010) to: Gold Canyon "Strike It Gold" Instant Win Game, P.O. Box 1406, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Vermont and Canadian residents may omit return postage. Limit one (1) request per stamped envelope and one (1) chance to receive a golden coin/Game Piece per request. No mechanical reproductions of requests will be accepted. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, misdirected or postage-due mail/requests. If you are not an eligible instant winner, you will receive only a Game Piece and a copy of the Official Rules.
PRIZES/ODDS OF WINNING:
Two (2) Grand Prizes (Odds: 1:97,500): $5,000 USD.
Two (2) First Prizes (Odds: 1:97,500): $1,500 USD.
Two (2) Second Prizes (Odds: 1:97,500): $750 USD.
Two (2) Third Prizes (Odds: 1:97,500): $150 USD.
Two (2) Fourth Prizes (Odds: 1:97,500): $100 USD.
Prizes will be awarded as a check payable to the winner. Prizes are not transferable.
TOTAL VALUE OF ALL PRIZES IN THE PROMOTION IS: $15,000 USD.
- PRIZE CLAIMS: If you receive a golden coin, call the toll-free number provided on the golden coin for redemption instructions. You will need to mail your original, winning golden coin to the address provided by calling the toll-free number found on the golden coin. All prize claims must be postmarked no later than May 31, 2010 and received by June 7, 2010. Golden coins submitted for redemption become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Coins are not made of gold and have no value. Claims are subject to verification and anti-fraud detection devices may be used to verify the Winners. The golden coins will be void if they fail to pass anti-fraud detection measures or if found to be reproduced, altered, forged, defaced, tampered with, mutilated, stolen, un-issued, unauthorized or illegible in any way. Golden coins will also be void if defective or they contain printing or other mechanical errors or are printed or produced in error, or if golden coin was not obtained via legitimate means. No prize will be awarded to the holder of any golden coin which is determined to be void or otherwise ineligible. No more prizes than the prizes listed above will be awarded, and if there are more verified prize claims received for any prize level than the number of prizes being offered, the prizes in question shall be awarded via a random drawing from among all persons submitting valid prize claims for the prize in question. Prize claims will not be verified until after the Promotion has ended. Winners will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit/Declaration of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within ten (10) days of attempted notification or prize may be forfeited. If any potential Winner is a Canadian resident, potential Winner will be required to correctly answer a timed mathematical skill question in order to be declared a Winner in the Promotion. If any prize or prize correspondence is not returned within the required time period or is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
- OFFERS, ODDS OF RECEIVING: Your offer will be stated on your Game Piece. Redeem offers by May 31, 2010. Discounts not applicable to gift card purchases. Offers are not redeemable for cash or with any other offer. No reproductions of game pieces will be accepted. Sales tax to be paid by bearer, as applicable.

- SECOND CHANCE DRAWING: If any cash prizes go unclaimed they will be awarded in a random drawing ("Second Chance Drawing") to be held on or about June 9, 2010 in Elmhurst, IL by the promotion administrator. To enter the Second Chance Drawing, on a piece of paper (approximately 3" by 5") legibly hand-print your name, complete home address (no P.O. boxes please), date of birth and daytime phone number, and mail your entry to: Gold Canyon "Strike It Gold" Second Chance Drawing, P.O. Box 1123, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Entry must be mailed in a hand-addressed, postmarked outer envelope. Limit one (1) entry per outer postmarked envelope. Entries must be received by June 7, 2010. No photocopies or mechanically reproduced entries allowed. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, or postage-due entries or mail. Entries are property of Sponsor and will not be returned. All entries have an equal chance of winning. Limit one (1) Second Chance Drawing entry per person. If the Second Chance Drawing is held, the odds of winning will depend on the number of unclaimed prizes and the number of eligible Second Chance Drawing entries received. If any potential Winner is a Canadian resident, potential Winner will be required to correctly answer a timed mathematical skill question in order to be declared a Winner in the Promotion.
- RELEASE AND GENERAL TERMS: Entry constitutes acceptance of these Official Rules. Decisions of Sponsor are final in all matters relating to the Promotion. This Promotion is offered only in the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec) and is governed by the laws of the state of Arizona and Canada, where applicable. By participating, participants agree to jurisdiction and venue in the federal and state courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, and that all claims and disputes must be resolved exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. All entrants, as a condition of entry, and Winners, by accepting a prize, agree to release and hold Sponsor and Promotion Parties harmless from any and all liability for injuries or damages received in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while involved in any prize-related activity or any travel related thereto. Sponsor and Promotion Parties are not responsible for printing errors, clerical, typographical or other error in the offering or announcement of any prize or in any prize notification documents, or other errors of any kind or nature. By accepting a prize, Winners grant Sponsor the right to use Winner's name, likeness and photograph in any and all media in connection with advertising and publicity without additional compensation or right of approval, except where prohibited.
